Lancaster County Safe & Healthy Families Court

Lancaster County Safe & Healthy Families Court

NRPVYC currently supports the Lancaster County Safe & Healthy Families Court by providing ongoing reflective practice to the judge, caseworker and attorneys, and conducting an enhanced program evaluation.

2019 - 2020

We began partnering with Judge Linda Porter and the Lancaster County Through the Eyes of the Child (TEOC) Domestic Violence Subcommittee in 2019 to enhance the practice and services provided to children and families who have experienced domestic violence and being served by juvenile courts.

This enhanced practice for juvenile court domestic violence cases was then called the Domestic Violence Court track. It aimed to give children and parents the opportunity to end the cycle of domestic violence through support, intervention, and education.

We offered:

  • Ongoing reflective practice to the judge, caseworkers, and attorneys working on these cases.
  • An initial Needs Assessment and ongoing program evaluation
  • Facilitation and strategic planning assistance for the Lancaster TEOC Domestic Violence Subcommittee

2020 - Present

In 2020, Judge Elise White assumed leadership of this court track, which became the Lancaster County Safe & Healthy Families Court. In 2021, the Safe & Healthy Families Court received a 3-year grant from the Woods Foundation to increase services and supports.

NRPVYC continues to support the Safe & Healthy Families Court by providing ongoing reflective practice to the judge, caseworker and attorneys, and conducting an enhanced program evaluation.
