About This Training

Early trauma and adversity can derail healthy development in infants and young children, disrupting their nervous system regulation and causing emotional and social delays—even when they have no conscious memory of the experiences. EMDR therapy is recognized as an evidence-based treatment for trauma in children and adults by the California Evidence-Based Clearinghouse for Child Welfare, the World Health Organization, and other leading authorities worldwide.

Objectives: In this presentation, we will

  • Explore how EMDR therapy helps repair the impact of early adversity by calming the nervous system, restoring emotional balance, and supporting a child’s return to a healthy developmental path.
  • Participants will gain insight into EMDR’s mechanisms of action and practical ways to apply the approach with young children.

Audience: This webinar is for all professionals who work with children including Child Advocacy, CASA, Head Start, Family Support, Community Support, Caseworkers, GAL’s, and many more.

Continuing education: This is a 1-hour presentation. Participants will receive handouts, an agenda, and a certificate of attendance to submit for continuing education credits on their own.
